West Ham go the extra mile in pre-season tour

Nobody can say that West Ham haven't gone the extra mile in their preparations for this season's Premier League.

The east London club have clocked up the second largest mileage total in their pre-season tour.

Find out how far they have gone and how they compare with other clubs in our graphic, below.

The figures represent the distances between the stadiums in the order in which the games have been played, and then back to the home stadium.

• Newcastle have the largest total distance at 24,687 miles - on account of the tournament in new Zealand.

• West Ham come second with a total of 23,515 - again on account of the tournament in New Zealand

• Manchester United's tour of America as part of the Guinness International Champions Cup sees them clock up 13,478 miles.

• Man City and Liverpool - also in the Guinness International Cup - clock up 12,283 and 11398 miles respectively.

Note: Figures for teams in the Guinness International Cup include a trip to the final in Miami.
