A man who swapped his Stratford home for a pad even closer to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has become the 500th resident to move into the former London 2012 Athlete's Village.

Office services director Ian McGuinness now calls East Village's Pippin Mansions home, after offering the required deposit to rent a property the same day he saw it.

The 41-year-old, who lives with his partner on the 27-hectare site, said: "I get access to world class leisure facilities in the park. It's a five minute walk and I have joined the gyms at the Copper Box and Aquatic Centre, which I have been using regularly."

The move-in milestone was clocked up by Get living London, residential owner and rental management company at East Village, and comes eight months after the first home-owners arrived on site.

Prices at the scheme start from £340 per week for a one-bedroom apartment with free broadband and evening and weekend phone calls, half price discounts on Sky TV and high end furniture packages at no extra cost all available.

Get Living London has a base on site to cater to residents' needs scheme seven days a week.
