East London gears up for the arrival of Le Tour

Race fans are starting to gather at fan parks and key London locations as Le Tour de France comes to east London.

The caravan - a promotional convoy of vehicles - leaves Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as 1.20pm this afternoon with the race itself passing through at 2.45pm.

It will head south through Newham and reach the Royal Docks at 3.05pm and pass just to the north of Canary Wharf about 10 minutes later.

For those tied to their offices, the race will be shown on the Canada Square Park and Wood Wharf Summer Screens will be broadcasting live coverage right the way to the sprint finish along the Mall.
