The Motorexpo made its annual trip to Canary Wharf this week, bringing the best range of high-end cars from numerous brands onto the estate.

On the ground floor of One Canada Square was the Infiniti Red Bull Racing Formula One car that Sebastian Vettel raced to victory in the 2009 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Relatively new to Europe, Infiniti was showing itself off in a bid to catch the attention of the UK market.

Other brands at the show, which runs until Sunday, include Land Rover, Jaguar, Maserati and Rolls Royce, which are all available to test drive.

City worker Godfrey Lath had come to the expo to get some inspiration for a new car purchase to replace his Mazda RX8.

He said: "I had a day off and I thought it would be interesting to come and see it. Nothing's caught my eye quite yet, but I'm still looking around.

"I think it's a great event and good for people to be able to see what's on offer. I'm looking for a nice Coupe."

BP employee John De-ath was upbeat about the event, as he looked at a few cars during his lunch break.

He said: "I think it's sensible to hold the expo here as there's a good audience who could actually afford these cars.

"I've been reading up on the history and having a look around - it's interesting to look at all the different brands."

Wharfers keen to get involved in the driving should look out for the DriveMe signs at stands. Those hoping to get on the road will need both parts of their driving licence.
