Pugs, pooches and mutts will strut their stuff at the Shoreditch Dog Show this Sunday.

All money raised on the day will go towards the Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT), a local charity helping the homeless and people in recovery from drugs and alcohol addiction.

SCT New Hanbury Project manager Sheona Alexander said: "Our gardening students at the New Hanbury Project have been lovingly restoring the church gardens but keep having to pick up dog mess. It's not a nice job, especially since they've had enough bad things in their lives.

"By holding this dog show we hope to remind local dog owners to pick up after their pooches, have fun and proudly show what we have achieved in the gardens on very limited resources."

There are 10 categories to compete for including Ditch and Bitch for the best looking bitch of Shoreditch and Whose Who for the dog that most looks like their owner.

It's just £3 per dog, per category, with plenty of giveaways including free microchipping by the Dog's Trust, and the chance to have your portrait taken with your dog.

June 29, from 2pm, St Leonard's Church gardens, Shoreditch.
