FOOD

Two uni buddies from India have set up what they've called the "Indian Pret A Manager" in a bid to offer healthy, home-style Indian fare to the UK.

Upma Arora and Arti Bareja, creators of Dhaba Lane, are hoping their lunch time delivery service and new store in Old Street will take London by storm.

I tried out the Wednesday Lunches delivery service at our Canary Wharf office.

Roasted chickpea, cauliflower and potatoes salad (vegetarian) - £5.00

The mixture of Indian spice and salad may not seem like a good combination on paper, but the taste buds would disagree.

The backdrop of relatively plain salad has a great addition in the spices and the soft potato. It felt like you were being healthy without even having to try.

Moong dal soup (vegetarian) - £3.00

The yellow lentils were perfectly seasoned with the spices and had a hint of lemon that cut through to break it up. This had a beautiful consistency and was incredibly filling and warming.

Chicken Curry with white rice - £5.00

Although the curry was delicious it was the most "offensive" to eat in the office of the three. The chunky chicken pieces engulfed by the creamy red curry sauce were delicious, but I was fearful the curry smell was attracting unhappy glances (which may have just been food envy).

Overall the dishes were delicious, with healthy-sized portions and all full of flavour.
