A man's body was pulled from the water at South Quay this morning.

Police believe the find is linked to a man who entered the water at West India Dock, via South Quay Plaza, at 10pm yesterday, but was not found.

A police spokesman said: "Police believe they know the identity of the male who entered the water and next of kin have been informed. Enquiries continue to establish if this is the same body that has now been recovered."

The find of the male, believed to be in his late 20s to early 30s, is not being treated as suspicious.

On Twitter @timi1978 said: "The police divers were there from 9am this morning and took about an hour to find the corpse."
