After 14 years in business, Excel London has hit the 20 millionth visitor milestone - and it believes it will reach the 30 million mark in just three years.

The magic number was hit on Wednesday morning at a London Tech Week event.

David Pegler, CEO of the exhibition centre, said: "This is a fantastic achievement for ExCeL London and underpins our ambition to be the home of world of leading events.

"Since opening in 2000, we have hosted over 4,500 events and welcomed 20 million people from every corner of the globe. In 2013, we celebrated our most successful year to date which resulted in an economic impact of £2.9 billion for London and supported 31,000 jobs nationally.

"We look forward to the continued success of our customers' events and anticipate that we will welcome our 30 millionth visitor within the next three years."

Adrian Jones, a Partner at Trowers & Hamlins, was the 20 millionth guest while attending The Tech Transformation Forum.
