Fan parks will be set up in east London for people to watch the Tour de France action, it's been announced.

Canary Wharf and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will both host the venues, giving supporters of the spectacular race the chance to watch their heroes on big screens.

Wood Wharf held the event in 2013 and it will be the venue again this July from 24 to 27 - the day of the closing ceremony.

There will also be cycle themed entertainment, as well as French food, pop-up shops, prize giveaways and celebrity appearances.

And it's already been revealed the tour will be heading through east London earlier in July, passing through both Stratford and Canary Wharf.

To mark the race through the capital the Olympic Park will be holding the fan park between July 5 and 7.

Elswewhere in London there will be fan parks in Trafalgar Square and Green Park and Harrogate.
