SEB Coe and Olympians celebrated the already hugely successful sporting initiative Go Run For Fun at the Olympic Park last week.

Some 1,500 children from primary schools across London ran against each other, Olympians and TV personalities in a 2km fun run in the grounds of the Olympic Park in Stratford.

The Go Run For Fun Foundation is aimed at encouraging Britain's 5-10-year-olds to take up running.

Brendan Foster, chairman of Nova International which organises the Great Run series, and Go Run For Fun founder Jim Ratcliffe were there to cheer on the participants.

Mr Ratcliffe said: "It's all about getting kids active. Running is a great way to do this as all you need is a pair of running trainers and you're ready to go.

"We wanted to make something kids would enjoy and encourage them to do more exercise. It's also an easy activity to organise, which gives more incentive for schools and youth organisations to take it on."
