TV fashion designer Jeff Banks unveiled his new uniforms for staff at the Old Royal Naval College this month in the Painted Hall, which inspired his design.

Jeff, who uses the site for a number of his photo shoots, said: "I wanted to get the history of the site into the design, but I also wanted to give it a modern feel.

"I started out by designing the buttons and then went from there. For the scarves I used the painting on the ceiling of the hall. I got a photographer to lie on his back for perspective and then took all the pictures from that and put them together on the scarf like a jigsaw puzzle.

Brendan McCarthy, CEO of the Old Royal Naval College said: "We are privileged that a designer of Jeff's stature has created this new look for us.

"The uniforms beautifully encapsulate the naval history of the site and we are delighted that they also feature our most spectacular attraction, the Painted Hall."
