Man dies after being hit by a car in Newham

Police have arrested two men after a pedestrian was killed in a road traffic accident on Wednesday morning.

The 35-year-old male victim died at the scene on Barking Road, Newham, just after midnight.

The occupants of the car - a BMW 3 Series - made off but were later found by police and arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The duo remain in custody.

Police said the incident happened at the junction with High Street North.
