Half term is here this week so to help you keep the youngsters entertained here's our top tips for what's on in the area. There's also a couple of food festivals for a chance to treat yourself.

1 Greenwich Food Fest

The free to visit one-day festival takes place on Monday. It sees traders from across Greenwich Market offer a wide range of delicacies for sale.

The event will take place in the town's main market from 11am to 5pm and includes live music from a host of acts.

All profits from the food fest will be given to charity Greenwich Food Bank. Click here for more info.

2 Food vans arrive at Canary Wharf

Canary Wharf, meanwhile, is holding it's own feast at Wood Wharf - and it will last all week.

Street food, craft beer and live music from a DJ will be offered each lunchtime from 11am to 3pm when KERB comes to town.

3 Ice carving at Wood Wharf

On Thursday and Friday at Canary Wharf's Montgomery Square there will be demonstrations of ice carving.

It comes off the back of the successful London Ice Sculpting Festival at the estate last month.

A host of half-term films will be on show this week to keep kids - and adults - entertained.

Cineworld at West India Quay and The O2 will be showing the likes of Tinker Bell And The Pirate Fairy and Frozen Singalong.

Meanwhile, as well as at Cineworld, The Lego Movie comes to Greenwich Picturehouse.

5 Family fun day at the theatre

The Half Moon theatre near Limehouse DLR is running a host of activities on Saturday to round off the half-term week.

Drama, art, puppet-making and face-painting are included. The fun runs from 10am to 3.45pm.
