Fan's Roar: Holloway a bold appointment for Millwall
By Ian Toal of Millwall Supporters Club
From the depths of despair we have at last got a chink of light that could be just what we need to turn this season round for us.
By appointing Ian Holloway on a two-and-a-half year contract, the club have made one of the biggest and boldest appointments they could have made.
There is no doubt about it, Holloway has not come to the club cheaply and the mistakes from the Steve Lomas appointment have cost the club a lot of money already and will cost infinitely more if we get relegated.
I was concerned after the defeat the board would take too long to appoint the new manager and let the club drift, leaving the eventual appointment too much to do. So credit to them for moving fast.
The appointment of Holloway is a positive decision after more than a few questionable ones we have seen recently, including the permanent signing of Justin Hoyte and the sale of James Henry to Wolves.
Holloway will have to work his magic without Henry's skills if we are to stay up this season.
