Ents blog: Laundrette Superstar, Him With His Foot In His Mouth and Ham at Space and Greenwich

★ Gig | Can women and her synth

A one-woman synth pop act is coming to The Space on the Isle of Dogs tomorrow as part of its One Festival.

Laundrette Superstar! is a comedy written and performed by graduate Fortuna Burke and has been described as Ab Fab meets Flight Of The Conchords.

Also appearing on the night, in a varied line-up, are shows about sex trafficking, writer's block and infant mortality.

Jan 31, The Space, £8-12, space.org.uk.

★ Stage | Saul music

Harry Shawmut spends his life saying things he shouldn't. Playing on his mind is an unkind comment to a lady made years ago, for which he wants to apologise.

Him With His Foot In His Mouth is a one man show based on a novella by the great Jewish American writer Saul Bellow, who paved the way for Woody Allen, Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm. The show is described as hilarious, shocking and moving.

Feb 5-8, Greenwich Theatre, £16-21, greenwichtheatre.org.uk.

★ Stage | Sink or swim

Ham is a story of global apocalypse. It's a modern day Noah's Ark told through the eyes of his son.

The irreverent and witty new play by Nathan Wood, is being presented by Mouths Of Lions, which has previously run shows at The Bush, the Old Vic Tunnels and The Albany.
Now it's taking up residence at The Space for the first time.

Feb 4-15, The Space, £8-12, space.org.uk.
