Canning Town woman found guilty of acid attack
A Canning Town woman who disguised herself in a Muslim veil and threw acid in her friend's face has been found guilty of the attack and faces a "substantial jail term".
Snaresbrook Crown Court was told Mary Konye, 21, pictured, prepared the attack "for months, even years" after falling out with Naomi Oni.
She showed no emotion when Judge David Radford delivered the verdict.
Her 21-year-old victim was left scarred for life after she was followed home from work at Westfield Stratford City and showered with acid. Even as she lay in hospital in pain, Konye feigned her concern with sympathetic texts.
Konye will be sentenced on March 7.
