A recent report showed workers in Canary Wharf have seen a 25 per cent drop in pay since 2011.

In comparison, in the other London financial district, City bankers saw just a five per cent fall in gross pay over that period.

The figures from the Office of National Statistics also show Tower Hamlets has an average pay of £59,000 per year compared to £84,000 in the City.

Tower Hamlets, one of the poorest boroughs in London, sees its average boosted by those working in Canary Wharf.
