Light art comes to Canary Wharf dock for Christmas
A wind-powered light installation has been installed at Canary Wharf's Middle Dock. fLumens will be in place until January 25.
Created by Rombout Frieling and Luuk van Laake, the fleet of ships' sails include hundreds of light elements, which change patterns and colour.
Each element is powered by wind and is activated at speeds of 10kph.
Sally Williams, public art consultant at Canary Wharf Group, said: "Rombout Frieling is inviting passers-by to appreciate the power of nature with the 'fLUMENS' installation.
"The visual impact and ever-changing colours of the installation will light up the area in a spectacular way and will remain in the dock during the festive period to brighten up those dark winter nights - it's certainly a very different take on the usual Christmas lights."
