Beckton murderer on run from mental health unit
A man jailed last December over the murder of a teenager at a birthday party has escaped from a mental health unit in east London.
Lerone Michael Boye, 27, of Evelyn Dennington Road in Beckton, was sentenced to 28 years in prison for killing 17-year-old Kelvin Chibueze in Ilford on August 15, 2011.
He was one of four men found guilty of the murder.
Boye escaped from the John Howard Centre in Kenworthy Road, Homerton at around 2pm on Wednesday.
Police are warning the public not to approach him if they see him but to call 999.
Boye is black, 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build and has short black hair. He has a horseshoe shaped scar on his right cheek and a goatee beard.
At the time of his escape he was wearing grey jogging bottles and a grey/blue sweatshirt.
