Tomato throwing festival comes to Canary Wharf
Normally noted for its cleanliness, part of the Canary Wharf estate will get a red makeover when a tomato throwing festival comes to town.
Taking place at Wood Wharf on September 25, La Tomatina will see people spend their lunchtime hurling fruit at eachother.
It's the first of its kind in the UK and is based on the famous festival in Valencia, pitured.
Spaces are limited for the free 20 minute event so you have to apply.
There is a maximum of four tickets per person. Around 150 are expected to take part. The throwing commences at 12.30pm.
Participants must sign a disclaimer before taking part.
A spokeswoman for the organiser, Mission Deli, said: "A lot of the tomatoes we will be using are pretty sloppy tomatoes as they have slightly missed their best before date - so don't wear your Sunday Best as you are going to get very very messy."
