Principal announced for new Tower Hamlets free school
A Tower Hamlets school set up by teachers, parents and professionals has appointed its first principal.
Ashid Ali, a former assistant headteacher at Forest Gate Community School, will be leading the London Enterprise Academy when it opens in 2014.
The free school hopes to have an intake of more than 600 pupils aged between 11 and 16 by 2018.
Mr Ali said the school - which has stated its preferred site is between Aldgate and Watney Market - would help address the shortage of places.
"I believe the new school will ensure academic rigour and support young people of Tower Hamlets to achieve the highest standard of education," he said.
