Mobile police station set up after Ajmol Alom killing
Police will be out in force at Spey Street on Monday night - a week after 16-year-old Ajmol Alom was stabbed to death.
Murder detectives and local officers will be talking to residents at the time of the incident, between 9pm and 11pm, in a bid to gather more information about the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Chalmers, from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "I am hopeful that our presence will enable us to speak to vital witnesses and people who pass through the area at this busy time.
"Ajmol was with his friend and doesn't appear to have been doing anything to provoke this attack.
"I would appeal for anyone with information or any witnesses to please come forward. Ajmol's family are naturally devastated."
Ajmol, a student at Langdon Park School, was with a friend in Spey Street, Poplar. when he was attacked.
Three men have been arrested in relation to Ajmol's death. One of those has been charged with murder.
