Clippers arrive for Race Village at St Katharine Docks
A host of boats arrived in St Katharine Docks ahead of the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race.
They will set sail on epic journey next Sunday and until then the race village will be open for visitors with a host of events on.
The village opens on Saturday at 10am with the public able to step onboard the boats, throughout the Bank Holiday Weekend and through all of next week.
There will be a series of naming ceremonies throughout the week and on Friday, August 30, at 11am Sir Robin Knox-Johnston and a team of Chinese sailors will receive awards for round the world circumnavigation.
That evening there will be a crew departure ceremony at 7pm.
Crews will depart St Kaths for the starting line on the Thames next Sunday at 11am.
Thousands are expected to line the banks of the river for the teams departure from Tower Bridge at 1pm.
The race will see teams undergo an eight leg course of 40,000 miles across six continents.
It will take 11 months to complete.
