New stores announced for Canary Wharf's Jubilee Place Mall expansion
With just five months to go until Canary Wharf's new-look Jubilee Place Mall is unveiled, shoppers have been given a glimpse of the retail offerings to come.
Canary Wharf Group has now announced nine of the 25 brands set to call the shopping centre home from November, in a project which has created an extra 44,000 sq ft of retail space on the estate.
Premium fashion brand Banana Republic will bring its combination of stylish clothing and accessories to the Wharf, providing chic workwear at affordable prices, while Emmett Shirts' mix of British tailoring and European elegance will cater for style-savvy males.
Adam Brown, representative for Orlebar Brown, said the extension of Jubilee Place would offer a "natural home" for the beach and swim shorts brand, which uses French fabrics and Italian zips to create a tailored item equally suited for beach, pool or bar.
And it's not just fashion brands which have signed up for the new stores.
Cosmetics brand bareMinerals will expand the make-up offering on the estate, by taking up a unit to showcase its unique brand created from 100 per cent crushed minerals, while The White Company, currently in Cabot Place Mall, will provide homewear and wardrobe items from a new location.
Camille Waxer, chief administrative officer for Canary Wharf Group, said: "With the office population at Canary Wharf growing and the needs of our shoppers increasing we felt it was the right time to expand our retail offer in Jubilee Place.
"Banana Republic, Cos, The White Company and Orlebar Brown are all sought-after brands that will enhance what is already a thriving shopping destination.
"We are absolutely delighted to welcome these stores to Canary Wharf and look forward to their openings in November."
The Wharf revealed earlier this year that Cos, Oliver Bonas, Le Pain Quotidien and Rituals would also create new shopping destinations within Jubilee Place.
Tell-tale signs of the extension have already been put in place, with the re-location of Jubilee Place escalators and a gold-clad mall walkway, which opened in March.
Canary Wharf Group has additionally committed to a 115,000 sq ft retail development at the Canary Wharf Crossrail Station which, combined with the work at Jubilee Place, signals one of the largest retail expansions in the UK.
