Overground to get five-car trains line by 2014

Five-car trains will be installed on the London Overground system from next year.
Addressing the London Assembly transport committee last week, Howard Smith, chief operating officer of London Rail, said the East London line would be the first to benefit.
"A planning application is submitted with what we need to do to re-build the depot," he said.
"We will, in the next few months, sign an agreement to process extra cars to get the first five-car trains running on the East London line during 2014, then move to the North London line in 2015."
The service, which links Clapham with east London, has proved to be a success since its completion last December.
