Two arrested over Westfield worker acid attack
A man and a woman were arrested over the weekend in connection with an acid attack on a Westfield Stratford City employee.
The pair aged 28 and 21 were held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily to Victoria's Secret sales assistant Naomi Oni, 21 who suffered horrific burns from acid thrown in her face on December 30 as she was returning home from a shift at the store.
Police would like to speak to a potential witness who got off the 368 bus in Lodge Road, Dagenham, at around 12.45am , just after the incident.
He is described as a black male, aged between 20 and 30, around 5'5' in height, of medium build and wearing a black jacket, black hooded top and blue jeans.
Reports had suggested police were investigating the possibility that Naomi's injuries were self inflicted following information thatshe had been researching fellow victim television presenter Katie Piper.
Police have confirmed that she is not the female who was arrested but that they are following a number of lines of enquiry.
