A proposal for a development of over 1,000 homes on the current site of the Decathlon store in Surrey Quays have been submitted to Southwark Council.

As reported in Estates Gazette this week, the Sellar Design + Developments plans covers eight acres and a cluster of residential buildings.

The tallest tower rises to 40 storeys.

Sellar, the team behind the Shard at London Bridge, joined the scheme in 2011.

The project at Surrey Quays Road received planning permission before this but one of the partners, Conrad Phoenix, pulled out of the plans.

The latest plans also include a new Decathlon store and 4,000sq m of retail space.

Cafes, restaurants and a cinema are also being proposed.
