A workspace in One Canada Square for tech start-ups has opened.

Level39 is due for completion next month but the first group of firms has already moved into the accelerator space.

Seven companies are working on the floor to test and fine-tune the offerings during a 12-week programme.

The groups are: BehavioSec, Calltrunk, Digital Shadows, Growth Intelligence, Kiboo, Open Bank Project and Waratek.

They are working alongside top executives from some of the leading financial firms.

Eric Van Der Kleij, Head of the Level39 Accelerator at Canary Wharf Group, said: "The objective of Level39 is to fuse together the technology and financial worlds to help the financial services sector to transform, enhancing London's position as the digital and financial capital of Europe."

Canary Wharf Group announced the development in October last year.
