Snow causes disruption ahead of evening rush-hour

Snowfall hit Canary Wharf on the first day of the big freeze which is expected to run into next week.

While the DLR and Jubilee line are running without any disruption, other Tube lines across the capital are having problems.
The Metropolitan and District lines are suffering delays and the Overground from Stratford is also disrupted.
Both Southeastern and First Capital Connect services are having problems due to broken down trains.
Most other train services out of London are running an amended timetable.

London City Airport has a number of cancellations and are urging people to check before beginning their journey.

Gritters have kept the roads running and construction sites, such as that at Canary Wharf's Crossrail site and the Olympic Park, are continuing despite the weather.

It's not all miserable transport problems though and many have hit the parks to enjoy the snow.
