Scuba Santas take a dive for charity

It was a gallant effort by a group of Santas who braved cold waters while wearing their big red suits in a world record attempt at the weekend.

But the effort, which featured Canary Wharf's Timuna Sea Dive Centre, fell short in the bid to beat the current high for the most scuba diving santas.

The 145 Father Christmases at Vobster Quarry in Somerset on Saturday was not enough, with a previous attempt at the same site recording 161.

However, the company, which has offices at Cannon Workshops in West India Quay, and fellow participants did raise £5,000 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institute from their endeavour.
