European airline Cityjet has revealed it is planning two new routes to Germany for spring next year.

Dresden, the industrial city to the east of the country, and Paderborn in central Germany will launch from London City Airport in March and April, respectively.

Siemens, the technology firm which opened The Crystal in east London earlier this year, has a strong presence in Paderborn. The town has a population of around 150,000 people.

There is also a number of people from the British armed forces based there.

The first flight will take off on April 22 and prices will start at £129 for a return.

Flights to Dresden, which has a population of over six million people, will begin on March 28. Tickets begin at £109 for a return flight.

Both routes will have a frequency of six times a week.

In October the airline launched a route from London City to another German city, Munster-Osnabruck.
