Appeal for witnesses to pregnant woman stabbing

aa-police.jpgA pregnant woman was stabbed in the leg during a knife point robbery as she attempted to get into a mini cab.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses to the violent incident which happened on Claredale Street in Bethnal Green On Tuesday December 11.

The woman who is in her 30s and is 20 weeks pregnant was attacked at around 5.30am.

She was pushed into the back of the car after her attacker failed to rob the driver of the vehicle and forced to hand over her handbag.

The suspect was described as a light skinned black male, 5'11' tall, aged in his late teens and wearing a cycle face mask which covered his mouth and nose. He left the scene on foot.

The woman was taken to hospital and discharged the same day. Her unborn child was unharmed.
