Police arrest six in Woolwich murder case

Detectives investigating the murder of 35-year-old Woolwich man Marcus Innocent have arrested six people.

Three have already been released on police bail while another three are currently in custody in relation to Monday's attack at around 6.20pm.

Marcus, pictured, was shot dead near his home in Kingsman Street. Following the attack police appealed for information on a group of 15-20 people seen in the area at the same time.

DCI Chris Le Pere said: "We believe the victim, who lived locally, was attacked by a group of people congregating in Lord Warwick Street near to the junction with Kingsman Street. However at this early stage the motive for this murder is unclear.

"If you witnessed this shooting, or the events leading up to or immediately after it, please call the incident room."
