A collision between two buses and a motorcycle in Limehouse on Monday morning left 14 people needing hospital treatment.

A bus driver suffered "multiple injuries" and the motorcyclist had neck and back injuries following the incident on Commercial Road at 8.52am.

The other 12 were all treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

A spokeswoman for London Ambulance said: "We sent a motorcycle paramedic, a single respondent in a car, four ambulances, a hazardous area response team and a medical team in a car.

"Our staff treated 14 patients. The motorcyclist was treated for multiple injuries and the bus driver was treated for neck and back injuries, before both being taken to the Royal London Hospital.

"The other 12 patients - 10 adults and two children - were treated for neck and back injuries and taken to hospital."

Police were also called to the scene.

The incident caused the closure of the A13 between Butcher Row and Burdett Road. The stretch is now open westbound but remains closed eastbound.
