Drug dealers targeted in London-wide operation

Police across Tower Hamlets raided 10 properties in the borough as part of a campaign across London to tackle drug gangs.

Community-led intelligence was used to target the homes, including two in West India Dock Road and one in Millharbour. Four people were arrested and are currently in custody.

Officers found cannabis, heroin and crack cocaine on the searches.

Tower Hamlets' Chief Inspector Nigel Nottidge said: "We had a 40% hit rate on the addresses be had warrants for and we managed to take drugs off the streets."

Meanwhile, Greenwich Police raided a warehouse in Kenya Road, Charlton, where they discovered a drugs factory containing an estimated £100,000 worth of cannabis plants.


Brothers aged 18, 26 and 28 were arrested in connection with the find.

Officers in the borough also seized £44,000 under the proceeds of crime act.

London-wide, by midday on Thursday police had announced 150 arrests from 142 executed warrants. Over 1,850 cannabis plants had been seized.
