Culinary delights and sporting action will continue to decorate Wood Wharf after the luxury cruise liners docked at the site set sail for home.

The newly-turfed area, which boasts a temporary park and television screens, will remain open to Wharfers for the 'forseeable future', confirmed a spokesman for Canary Wharf Group Plc.

"There is table tennis and croquet down there and the big screens will be in place until the end of the Paralympic Games," he said.

"There may be the possibility for future events to use the space but nothing is firmed up yet."

And he added that the Wood Wharf lunch market, which showcases a mouth-watering range of global cuisines every month, will run on both August 28 and September 25.
