Men held after train stabbing

A man from Greenwich has been arrested after a 17-year-old was stabbed on a train from Gillingham to London.

The teenager from Dartford was rushed to hospital where he underwent surgery. He has since been discharged and also been arrested.

The incident took place at about 6.15pm on Tuesday, July 24.

Police arrested the 20-year-old from Greenwich at his home at the weekend on suspicion of violent disorder.

Both men have since been bailed and are due to return to police stations in Kent and London on August 31.

Detective Sergeant Leigh Marshall, leading the investigation for BTP, said: "Following our appeal in local media I'd like to thank the public for their overwhelming response into this incident.

"We received lots of vital information which has greatly assisted our investigation."
