TRANSPORT_blog.jpgSpectators making their way to this weekend's London 2012 Men's Cycle Road Race are being advised to check their route before traveling.

Huge crowds are expected to line the streets of London tomorrow, Saturday, to witness team GB's Tour de France heroes battle to secure a gold medal on home turf.

Transport for London (TfL) is advising motorists that roads will be exceptionally busy, and asking drivers to avoid routes in central London and race routes, which will be closed.

Those intending to travel to and from airports during the busy two days should also check if their route will cross the event course, and plan a diversion.

The men's cycling road race, which is the first road event of the Games, will feature Bradley Wiggins and team mates Chris Froome and Mark Cavendish.
