The Thames cable car should be fully integrated into the rest of the capital's fare structure.

The call on London Mayor Boris Johnson comes from the London Assembly which wants to see the Emirates Air Line take travel cards, freedom passes and an Oyster cap.

Assembly member Darren Johnson said: "It's fantastic to finally see a cable car across the river, but a real disappointment that passengers must pay extra to use it.

"The cable car is effectively outside of London's integrated public transport system."
