Football fixtures announced for 2012/13
West Ham return to the top flight with a clash at home to Aston Villa, it was revealed on Monday morning.
The Hammers follow up the August 18 curtain-raiser with a trip to Swansea and then a home game against Fulham in consecutive Saturdays.
The Premier League and Football League fixture lists were announced on Monday.
In the Championship, Millwall will host beaten play-off finalists Blackpool at The Den on August 18. That will be followed by a Tuesday night trip to Peterborough and then Sheffield Wednesday away.
The Lions face south London rivals Charlton at The Den on December 1 and then visit The Valley on March 16.
Charlton's first game is away to Birmingham City, followed by a home clash against Leicester in mid-week and then a visit from Hull City.
