Flights to Basel to launch from City Airport
Swiss International Air Lines has announced it is expanding its City Airport operations by launching a route to Basel.
The carrier, which already flies from Docklands to Zurich and Geneva, said it is introducing the new flights in response to demand from passengers for more air links with Switzerland.
The route will begin on May 21 and see two daily flights.
Swiss' manager for UK and Ireland Felix Rodel said: "Swiss International Air Lines' first priority is to serve our passengers needs. This also means that we are adapting our schedules according to passengers demand.
"The new route will ensure even faster travel between the two cities due to the close proximity of both airports to city centres and business districts."
The airline currently runs seven flights a day to Zurich and four daily flights to Geneva.
