O2 Dome.JPGTeam GB's male gymnasts secured a place at this summer's Games by finishing top at the Olympic test event at The O2.

The men's artistic team failed to qualify last year after finishing 10th at the World championships in Tokyo but won by a good margin in last night's competition.

Daniel Purvis led the team scoring 89.948, helping to push France into second place.

Men's Technical Director Eddie Van Hoof: "I'm extremely pleased and hugely relieved with today's performance. The boys had something to prove after the disappointment of the Tokyo World Championships and they excelled themselves.

"They have put a huge amount or work in over the Christmas period and it's great to see that all pay off ,and we can now look really positively ahead to the Games"
The gymnastics test event finishes on January 18.
