An application to Greenwich Council has requested the, "erection of a walkway across the arch of the O2 with two ancillary pavilions at its northern and southern ends."

The proposed O2 Skywalk is aimed at increasing tourism during and after the Olympic Games and will have facilities for disabled as well as able-bodied participants.

In a letter to Greenwich Council, AEG said: "The scheme will provide an additional tourist and entertainment attraction allowing the public to transverse the arch of The O2 tent structure from the south to the north, with a viewing platform at the highest point affording unique 360 degree views."
