DLR services were disrupted on Thursday after a man was spotted walking along the tracks near London City Airport.

Early reports suggest he was carrying a knife in the incident which occured at around 1.30pm and saw the line closed for nearly half an hour.

British Transport Police were called to the scene.

A spokesman for the BTP said: "The power was turned off and a 22-year-old man from Southfields was arrested on suspicion of trespass and possession of a bladed article.

"The man, who was uninjured, has been taken into custody for questioning."

The line reopened just before 2pm and is now running without delays.
