ff-jan28-olympic boxers1.JPGTop class boxing returns to The O2 in May when some of the best British talent will be in the ring.

Nathan Cleverly tops the bill on May 21 when he challenges Germany's Juergen Braehmer for the WBO light-heavyweight crown, but the most intriguing contest could be the bout between James DeGale and George Groves.

DeGale, 25, won Olympic gold in Beijing, while Groves, 22, is Commonwealth champion.

The pair, both unbeaten, will fight for DeGale's super-middleweight belt. They used to train together at the same west London gym, but their relationship has deteriorated, which means it could turn into a tasty contest.

The show was announced by promoter Frank Warren at a press conference this morning.

The O2 has not staged international boxing since David Haye beat Enzo Maccarinelli in a cruiserweight contest in March 2008.
