Millwall 4 Hull City 0
Steve Morison and James Henry were the stars of the show as Millwall continued their impressive start to the season.
The Lions mauled Hull City 4-0 at the Den on Saturday to put themselves top of the Championship with a 100 per cent record.
Goals for Kevin Lisbie, Liam Trotter and a brace from Morison saw Millwall rout their visitors, who last season were playing in the Premier League.
Morison, who made his international debut for Wales in midweek, opened his account for the season on the quarter hour with a header from a Henry corner, having muscled past Hull defender Anthony Gardner.
Richard Garcia almost levelled or the visitors minutes later but his free-kick was well saved by David Forde.
Millwall were always in the ascendancy and they doubled their leaf on 29 minutes when Kevin Lisbie snuck in to head home a Henry cross.
Morison made it 3-0 six minutes after half-time with his second, and Millwall's third, headed goal of the game. He latched onto another Henry corner to loop the ball over Duke.
Henry, who had Hull foxed all afternoon, had his fourth assist of the game when Trotter scored from close range just before the hour mark, to effectively seal the win for the Lions.
Hull did have their moments and Forde had to produce two fantastic saves to deny Andy Dawson and Robert Koren, but the visitors can have no complaints about the result.
That makes it two wins out of two for Millwall on their return to the Championship, while they also won in the Carling Cup in midweek. But manager Kenny Jackett refused to get carried away.
He said: "That was a really good performance and I'm really pleased with the start to the season, winning three games in the first week.
"In your first home game you want to give the supporters some optimism for the future and I think we have done that.
"How we go on from here is another challenge, but it was a good day for us and a well-deserved win."
A sterner test awaits Millwall this Saturday, when they travel to Elland Road to play Leeds.
