Millwall 2 Middlesbrough 1
Goals from Steve Morison and Liam Trotter were enough to guide Millwall through to the third round of the Carling Cup.
The Lions saw off Gordon Strachan's Middlesbrough side at The Den last night, and not even a bizarre late blunder by goalkeeper David Forde could stop them.
The Irishman completely misjudged Scott McDonald's 88th minute chip from the edge of the box, allowing the ball to float over his head and into the net when he could easily have lifted his hands to catch it.
That set up a frantic finale as Boro pushed for an equaliser, but Millwall hung on.
Morison had given them the lead from the penalty spot in the 29th minute, after Alan Dunne was bundled over by Tarmo Kink.
Trotter doubled the lead 10 minutes later when he smashed the ball home from close range.
Both sides created scoring chances in an entertaining game, but it's Millwall who go into the hat for a potentially lucrative third round game.
