REVIEW
The White stripes are cool. They look cool, sound cool, have cool fans and as this latest CD will testify, they go to some cool places.
Under Great White Northern Lights was recorded during the band's 2007 tour of every province and territory of Canada. Not content with performing standard shows, the twosome hit a bowling alley, a boat and a city bus on route across the Great White North.
Celebrating a decade together, the CD comes with a DVD of their journey.
In traditional rock doc style, grainy black and white footage filmed on hand held cameras is mixed with Meg and Jack's on-stage antics.
Live is what The White Stripes do best, making this a stand out album.
The crowd reaction generated by the giant riffs of Icky Thump is electric, pouring the spirit of the gig into your living room.
All the sing-a-long classics feature, including Seven Nation Army, Fell In Love With A Girl and the beautiful We Are Going To Be Friends.
The Detroit double act also let rip on their unique covers of Jolene and I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself.
Jack White may have his finger in many musical pies but this album proves his heart belongs to The White Stripes. Get cool. Get this album.
