Charlton got their second equaliser of the week but again missed out on a valuable three points in Tuesday night's clash at Walsall.

A Deon Burton penalty on the stroke of half-time cancelled out Troy Deeney's opener but the Addicks could not find a way through in the second half despite the home side going down to 10 men.

Manager Phil Parkinson shuffled his pack for this away game, with Therry Racon replacing Jose Semedo, Akpo Sodje coming in for David Mooney and Chris Solly playing at left back in place of Grant Basey.

Although Charlton were the better side in the opening stages it was the Saddlers who took the lead when Deeney headed past keeper Rob Elliot on 32 minutes.

The Addicks went in level at half-time when Burton converted from the spot for his 13th goal of the season after Racon had been brought down in the box.

The second half saw Charlton on top again with Kyel Reid particularly threatening.

However, there was no way past Walsall keeper Clayton Ince, despite the home side going down to 10 men when Deeney was shown his second yellow card on 80 minutes.

Charlton: Elliot, Richardson, Solly (Basey 89), S Sodje, Dailly; Wagstaff (Sam 80), Bailey, Racon, Reid; A Sodje (McKenzie 72), Burton.

Walsall: Ince; Weston (Westlake 8), Sansara, McDonald, Vincent; Till (Nicholls 58), Mattis, Richards; Byfield (Parkin 85), Deeney.

Att: 3,417 (446 Charlton)
