An away day at Walsall's Banks's Stadium may seem like a blessing for Charlton's players following all the booing at The Valley over the last week.

Addicks fans let their feelings known after defeat at home to Leyton Orient was followed by a poor draw against Tranmere on Saturday.

It raises the issue of why is jeering limited to football, pantomimes and Big Brother evictions?

Why not boo the postman if he's late, or boo the bank manager when he refuses an overdraft extension?

And will Addicks fans ever boo Akpo Sodje - who returned to the club on a season long loan on Monday - if he misses a sitter at The Valley? Or is the boo limited to those under 6ft 2in and 12 and a half stone of muscle?

Questions, perhaps, for manager Phil Parkinson to ponder on another day.

Tonight, the Charlton boss's focus will be on just how much his faultering side needs to be reshuffled.

Akpo will be pushing for a start up front, as will Leon McKenzie, following David Mooney's below-par performance against Tranmere.

Therry Racon or Jonjo Shelvey could also be in line for recall to add some guile to the Addicks midfield.

In other team news Rob Elliot may miss out after going off injured on Saturday. Kelly Youga is still sidelined with a knee injury.

As for Walsall, they are in 13th position but struggling for form having not won in the last six.

Kick off: Tuesday 7.45pm

Prediction: 0-0 (boo)
